Delight and Artisanal Baking at the DB Museum in Nuremberg
Hildes Backzug is the museum restaurant at the DB Museum in Nuremberg. Since September 2025, this bakery-bistro has been combining traditional Nuremberg baking craftsmanship with a unique atmosphere centered around the theme of railroads.
The restaurant is operated by the Nuremberg bakery Hildes Backwut. Under the motto “Well-made, just like in the old days,” baked goods are created here with a wealth of artisanal experience and attention to detail.
What does Hildes Backzug offer?
The menu includes freshly baked bread, sweet pastries and cakes, savory snacks, as well as soups and other hot dishes. Cold and hot beverages round out the offerings. Many dishes and baked goods are also available for takeout.
This makes Hildes Backzug ideal for both a quick coffee break and a hearty meal during your museum visit.
The specific offerings may vary by season and from day to day.
A restaurant for the whole family
Cozy seating invites you to linger, relax, and enjoy. A play area is also available for families, so even the youngest guests can keep themselves entertained during the break.
When the weather is nice, the terrace offers additional seating. In total, the restaurant has about 80 seats.
“Well-made, just like in the old days”
Behind Hildes Backwut is Nuremberg baker Johannes Schwarz. For more than 18 years, the bakery has stood for traditional baking craftsmanship, authentic flavor, and handmade baked goods.
With Hildes Backzug, the Nuremberg bakery has also had a home at the DB Museum Nuremberg since September 2025. The name connects the baking craftsmanship of Hildes Backwut with the museum’s railway history.
