TEE - for 30 years, the three letters stood for comfortable and fast rail travel. The luxurious trains connected the most important European cities from the end of the 1950s and still take their passengers back to the era of the economic miracle today. For the second time in a row, the DB Museum is offering trips on the locomotive-hauled museum TEE from Nuremberg this year. On the weekend of October 19 and 20, it will travel to Sengenthal to the Max Bögl Group and to the large model railway exhibition at the DB Museum Halle (Saale).

TEE trip on October 19

The Max Bögl Group has been the talk of the town ever since a technical feasibility study was carried out into the possible construction of a magnetic levitation train in the south of Nuremberg. On Saturday, October 19, the DB Museum's special train will take you on a 45-minute journey to the Upper Palatinate. Once they arrive at the company premises in Sengenthal (near Neumarkt), passengers can look forward to exciting insights and a ride on the test track of the maglev train.

Tickets for the return journey, including the supporting program, cost 49 euros (children aged 4 to 17: 24.50 euros). The trip is a half-day trip. The tickets are valid for the outward and return journey and include the supporting program at Max Bögl. A historic dining car will be on board for the trip, offering hot and cold drinks and snacks.

TEE trip on October 20

On Sunday, October 20, the museum TEE will then set off on an all-day trip to the DB Museum Halle (Saale). The "Small meets Big" model train exhibition will take place there on the weekend of October 18/19/20. Once a year, the historic roundhouse, which is home to the DB Museum Halle, is transformed into an exhibition hall for countless model railroad layouts. This year, seven regional and national clubs as well as three private individuals will be presenting their lovingly designed layouts in various sizes and scales. In addition, many of the historic locomotives are open and explained in detail by museum volunteers.

Alternatively, you can also visit the cities of Naumburg or Halle (Saale). It is possible to get on and off at stops along the way, but the tickets are always valid to the destination Halle (Saale). Naumburg impresses with its old town and Naumburg Cathedral, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018. The traditional pottery market will take place in Halle on October 20, where 90 professional ceramics workshops from Germany, the Czech Republic and Belgium will present their work, including students from the renowned Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design. In addition, numerous museums are offering free or reduced admission on presentation of the TEE ticket, including the Halle City Museum, the Handel House and the Moritzburg Art Museum.

Tickets for the outward and return journey, including the supporting program, cost between 30 and 110 euros, depending on the boarding point. The tickets are valid for the outward and return journey and include admission to the DB Museum Halle. Children (4 to 17 years) pay only 50 percent of the ticket price. The journey is accompanied by a historic dining car offering hot and cold drinks and snacks.
