Nuremberg

During summer vacation, there’s plenty to discover and try out at the DB Museum in Nuremberg. Two special events offer a variety of activities but please note that these offers are available only in German:

Crafting with Concrete

In conjunction with the special exhibition “Tunnel,” children ages six and up will learn about the most important building material used in tunnel construction during a two-day workshop. After an exploratory tour of the exhibition, participants will mix concrete and pour it into molds. On the second day, the dried concrete molds can be creatively painted and then taken home.

Dates: August 12 and 13, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm each day
Cost: 5 euros plus museum admission

Draisine Days

From August 19 to 23, 2026, children, teens, and families can get hands-on: Using a hand-cranked draisine modeled after a historical design, they’ll ride along the “time track” in the outdoor area. This activity requires physical strength, endurance, and dexterity.

The rides are included in the museum admission, and registration is not required. Since the event takes place outdoors, it can only be held in dry weather.
