Rail Day 2024

The nationwide Rail Day 2024 is entering its third round under the motto "Safety and the future of rail". The DB Museum will be hosting a varied program around the current special exhibition "Under Pressure. The history of the train toilet". Safety and the future also played an important role in the toilet. There have been repeated attempts to renovate the toilets on trains, to make them barrier-free and hygienically safer. What, for example, is there to the story that faeces landing on the tracks was harmful to health? Or that faeces are forced into the cabin when passing through tunnels at high speed? We get to the bottom of this in several guided tours. In addition, Hark Neumann will give a talk on the development of the train toilet at Deutsche Bundesbahn. An open activity program for children rounds off the event.
