China's high-speed rail network – a model for the future?
China's high-speed rail network is developing rapidly: within 30 years, it has grown from zero to 48,000 km. Trains travel at speeds of up to 300 km/h and transport over three billion people annually. The event will show a film and feature a lecture by Dresden-based transport scientist Florian Gau on the development of this impressive transport system. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the extent to which the Chinese high-speed rail model can serve as a model for other regions of the world.
Contributors: Florian Gau; Sergej Samjatin, Head of International Sales at DB Systemtechnik; Gerhard Knienieder, Managing Director of the Laufer-based company EMUGE; Norbert Schäfer, CEO of the regional transport technology network Cluster Neuer Adler (CNA).
